Bibliographic work of Lídia Wendelin Endréné Ferenczy at the National Széchényi Library
Abstract
The study presents the bibliographic theory and practical bibliographic work of Endréné Ferenczy (1933–2024) as a librarian of the National Széchényi Library. As a freshman, she was assigned to the Bibliography Department of the library and participated in the editing of reading lists on special topics. Her independent bibliographies were Mozart in Hungary and the Chinese-Hungarian Bibliography. She was one of the initiators of the publication Bibliography of Hungarian Bibliographies. She was an active contributor and speaker at the 2nd National Bibliographic Conference
held in 1990. In the 1980s, she compiled personal bibliographies of Ferenc Juhász and György Aczél. Her most significant bibliographic work is Bibliography of Hungarian Newspapers and Journals, 1921-1944. In her publications, she also dealt with the methodology and theoretical aspects of bibliography, first of all these of the series of the Hungarian national bibliography edited by the Széchényi National Library.
