Abstract

The International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame (hereinafter referred to as the Hall of Fame) organized its first major conference in beautiful Florence from 7 to 9 November 2024. The conference, entitled Revitalising Adult Continuing Education for Positive Social Changes and Personal Fulfilment, was unique in several ways. The most important European and North American organizations and journals dealing with adult learning and education were invited to the conference. The conference also differed from the traditional framework in that there were only two plenary presentations and the participants discussed future opportunities for cooperation and progress in ten working groups.
