Abstract
IFLA was founded in 1929 with the aim to further cooperation among the various fields of library work. It convenes annually and the material of its congresses is continuously published in "Actes du Conseil de la Fédération Internationale des Associations de Bibliothécaires".
The work of IFLA is actually carried out in the executive committee the special committees and departments. The special committees deal with a certain field of librarianship, while the departments deal with the various types of libraries.
With the development of librarianship, the number of the member associations of IFLA is increasing, and the activity of its organizations becomes more far-reaching. The number of committees and departments is also growing.
The immediate tasks and the yearly programms of the committees and departments are laid down in the decisions and recommendations.
The most important decisions and recommendations of some of the departments and committees passed at the 31st and 32nd sessions of IFLA, are dealt with from the point of view of the information work of Hungarian technical libraries and documentation inatitutions.hoe survey of the successive congress decisions and recommendations in the various committees and departments provide the means to follow up the realization of the work plans, and also give a full picture about the activities of IFLA.
