Report on the activities of the Central Library of the Budapest Technical University in 1968

Abstract

The paper contains the most essential data of the Library's annual report. 10.340 volumes were acquired, the number of registered readers was 10.877 and that of the volumes circulated amounted to 342.048. The Library issues five publications, two of which were supplied with computer-made indices. At the third faculty of the university - the Faculty of Electrical Engineering - the Library started an educational program concerning the method for literature searching. The Central Library successfully assiated methodologically and in many other ways its network of over 100 branch libraries working is various departments, institutes and colleges of the university. The number of books acquired decreased by 1253 volumen as against the previous year due to some financial difficulties that arose during the year, but the number of periodical titles increased from 1682 to 1739 iteme.
