The importance of cooperation and co-ordination in scientific and technical information

Abstract

The rapid development of R & D has also influenced the requirements towards information systems: quick services, increased selectivity and retrospective search facilities will have primary importance in the future. The consequent tasks require an adaquate national information policy, including effective co-operation and co-ordination. Based upon foreign experiences and results in Hungary, the relevant tasks together with their stimulating and hindering aspects are discussed.
