International co-operation and the utilization of agricultural information systems and services
Abstract
The main features of the AGRIS system are described with some examples of national and regional participation. The regional AGRINTER system and the regional co-operation of the EEC countries are analyzed. The differences between the two forms of co-operation result from the different levels of information technology in the participating countries. Among the EEC countries the Federal Republic of Germany plays a leading role both in regional and international co-operation. The possibilities and requirements of the utilization of national and international information systems are also investigated from the user's viewpoint.
