Problems of functioning and management
Abstract
The general aspects of converting old buildings into libraries are considered, and a case history of the Lübeck, West Germany, Library, a medieval building is discussed. A general conclusion is that il does not matter for the library to what building it moves if it is spacy and has a good location. It is also necessary for a library that the reader not only quickly reaches his purposes, he must also feel comfortable. The problems and their solutions in Lübeck are explained.
