A model for microcomputer-aided documentation and information activity
Abstract
Generalizing the principles of the microcomputer-aided documentation activity of the Library of the Hungarian Parliament we come to a model for the realizalion of information and documentation systems of small libraries and various institutions. The main point of the model is that the original is characterized by three deseriptions: an annotaion containing the source data and the abstract of the original; a string of descriptors enabling free-text retrieval; and subject codes of a rough classification used for conceptual search. The program packages made at the Library on a micro-computer Floppymat-SP efficienfly help perform the input of documents processed and their manifold retrieval. Microcomputer-aided systems like this can pave the way for establishing information networks based on mainfrarnes.
