Abstract

Analogies between human populations and journal communittes are treated in this study. Definitions and regularities of demography can successfully be used in the description of the "sociology" of journals, however, the later shows a more complicated but also more colorful picture than that of humans. The possibility of building some more elaborate mathematical models is conjuctured.
