CD-ROM network systems, headache or a solution?

Abstract

The MultiPlatter CD-ROM network is presented and compared with other CD-ROM network systems avaifable on the market. Two approaches of CD-ROM networking are considered, the technlcal conception and the functional conception. The advantages and disadvantages of network systems are discussed. A brief overview is given of the development of CD-ROM database usage in libraries, and an attempt is made to predict future trends.
