The Electronic Reference Library (ERL) at the University of Ghent

Abstract

Applications of SilverPlatter's ERL network services within the University are presented. The 18 CD-ROM databases reslding in a central server can be accessed from any of the 2000 workstations of the University of Ghent. The operation of the client/server system, its advantages, the connection of the network and workstations are described briefly. ERL is suitable also for internet access and for the administration of network and database usage.
