An option forthe rehabilitation of Southern Slav culture in nine movements

Abstract

A crucial issue of the Southern Slav cultural rehabilitation approaches could be a novel library restoration project. This project would cover the total information entity from the alphabet to scientific research. It could exert a beneficial impact on the psychic pacification of the region, too. Various levels of educational, library and archive organizations could be brought „under the same roof", e.g. libraries with archive functions, university libraries with public municipal library functions. Practical educational activities could be established around those combined cultural centres (e.g., industrial or agricultural training). Cultural and economical interests could be coupled, reasonable administration and logistics could be realized this way. An information infrastructure could be based upon mutual interests of culture and economy, e.g., library building structures, equipment, information media etc.
