Digital libraries from Robin Hood to the Love Canal

Abstract

From the 101 items descibed on the Website of the Associationof Research Libraries 14 digital library projects of 10 institutions are reviewed. A more detailed description is given about the California Digital Library, a new development, not figuring in the above listing. The review is supplemented with some remarks on „Lessons Learned: National Digital Library Competition", the problems of defining collections in digital libraries and questions of measuring the use and success of digital libraries.
