Thesaurus on the user surface. Optimal thesaurus display formats

Abstract

The posstbilily of efficient application of thesauri significantly increases in an online environment. A prerequisite for this is the availabiíity of a suitable user front end. However, information regarding the use of thesauri and other authority files has not reached the designers of database systems in sufficient quantities. Searching is supported poorly (in the form of primitive indices) by program packages created up to now. The author attempted to phrase ergonomically acceptable and more accurate requirements.
