Thesaurus of instruments of percussion

Abstract

This thesaurus encompassing terms of instruments of percussion – carried out in the framework of a university dissertation – fills a gap in the field of Hungarian terminologies. The exceedingly special terms of the thesaurus brought up special editing problems that were solved with the help of the RELEX thesaurus management program. As a result, the thesaurus became compatible with uni-versal thesauri used at the National Széchényi Library and other important Hungarian libraries, and its data could be exported into various library and web services in the MARC21 data exchange format for authority data. The article presents the thesaurus entries and related MARC21 formats in detail.
