Namespaces and data properties. A history, or the conceptual and linguistic levels
Abstract
Names (proper names and common names) may constitute namespaces that can be used in collection systems or for the purposes of the semantic web. For the management and presentation of these namespaces significant examples are already available. In special fields the forms, relations and logical structure of names are currently regulated by somewhat differing standards and data exchange formats. The properties of name spaces can be deduced from data properties, while data properties follow from data types. The essay discusses the history of namespaces and data-related terminology.
