A place of information equality of chances and democracy: the library

Abstract

According to the Library Law of Hungary in 1997, a new situation arose in Hungarian library matters. The two main strategic objectives determined by this law have been the creation of a National Document Supply System, and the telematics based development of libraries. Based on a SWOT analysis of library matters in this country, and con-sidering new challenges, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage formulated strategic objectives for the the period 2003-2007. The tasks to be accomplished have been assigned to every objectives.
