Personal information management in practice

Abstract

The issues of personal information management or personal archiving are often raised at international fora in the context of the fast-changing digital world. However, this part of information science has received so far little attention in Hungary, regarding both its theoretical and practical sides. Even persons with appropriate information literacy consider personal information management rather as a side effect of producing content in a digital environment, than as a planned action. There are hardly any studies in literature dealing with this subject, apart from some outstanding exceptions.
