Abstract

The author is Head of the National Health Sciences Library and President of the Federation of Hungarian Medical Libraries (MOKSZ). MOKSZ is a federation of medical and health libraries, created 20 years ago with membership on a voluntary basis. The Board of MOKSZ focuses on exploring the problems of medical libraries and on assistance to solve them. The recent negative feedback coming from the libraries and librarians concerned is worrying the Board. They are aware of the economic difficulties in health care in Hungary, of the government’s efforts to normalize its functioning; they take, however, every opportunity to express their views for the benefit of member libraries and the profession.
