An international overview of current ICT strategies
Abstract
Comparative educational research associated with developing and introducing an e-learning environment includes, among other, an examination of national information and communication strategies. In addition to reviewing global, transnational R & D programmes (in the European Union and the OECD countries) the article presents a success story, the development plans of Estonia. Hungarian strategy is analysed as well, focusing on the development opportunities of information and communication technologies. The countries discussed were chosen because they are rated among the best in International Student Assessment, and this is an important feature, and their best practice in ICT is compared and the findings
