Processing manuscripts and codices in MARC format

Abstract

How to catalogue manuscripts in a standardized way in MARC format? Which kind of Hungarian and foreign examples can be found for that? As there is no modern Hungarian standard for processing manuscripts, the article presents the possibilities for describing manuscripts in MARC format, based on a foreign standard. It also provides an insight into a future potential new library standard, as well as its opportunities for cataloguing manuscripts.
