Innovation nodes in research and education. The strategic development directions of Hungarian academic libraries 2018−2023
Abstract
Hungarian academic libraries have outlined which development directions and tasks will be most important in the next few years to support higher education, research and the socialization of research results. Following the formulation of basic values, mission and vision, the following key areas for development were identified, based on an analysis of the state of the art, using various analytical techniques and taking the national strategies adopted by the government into consideration:
– digitization and building of collections, with a view to the preservation of national cultural heritage,
– support to Hungarian science which is embedded in international networks,
– promoting higher education and student effectiveness.
All this can be achieved by developing human resources, creating a modern management and organizational culture, through conscious communication and quality management, through partnerships with one another and with other stakeholders, through a dialogue with and feedback from maintaining bodies, and within a stable and consistent legal and financial environment.
