Library trends affecting Hungarian research and academic libraries

Abstract

The roles, circumstances and technologies are changing around research and academic libraries. As there is no Hungarian library strategy, it is worth looking at European library trends and development plans which can help us to identify what way Hungarian research and academic libraries should go. Furthermore, as there have been so many actions and commitments of research and academic libraries for the last few years, it is worth listing them together in an article. In line with the European guidelines and Hungarian actions, the author defines and identifies relevant library trends affecting Hungarian research and academic libraries, and classifies them according to the opinions of 13 experts in the field.
