Abstract

The Szabó Ervin Library (Budapest) provided an opportunity for conducting two nationwide, representative surveys among the Hungarian population (3-18 years and older than 18), on reading and library use, within the project EFOP-3.3.3-VEKOP-16-2016-00001 „Museum and library developments for all”, under the project „My library”, from an EU grant. The survey, in accordance with the traditions of reading and library-sociological research, investigated book purchase habits, the size of home libraries, and the findings have been compared to the social and demographic features of respondents, as well as to their habits of using libraries.
