Scientometrics at a university

Abstract

In this study, we provide a summary, a top view of the activities in scientometrics and in closely related areas to support university authors at the Klebelsberg Kuno Library of the University of Szeged, focusing on everyday practice in the institution. In a comprehensive portrait, we present the needs and challenges to which an institution engaged in almost all disciplines and providing scientometric services ex officio should correspond. This task is very complex not only due to the diversity of scientific fields, but also because of the wide spectrum of available software tools and databases, and the different levels in the needs of the research community served.
