Abstract

In Hungary, there are now many institutions, mostly university libraries, operating repositories. From the point of digital preservation, this is one of the most effective ways to store metadata and associated digital objects, and to retrieve them. Hungarian repositories usually use open source software, the most common of them being DSpace and EPrints. The article presents Omeka, a third system less-known in Hungary. As regards its performance, it offers a so-called "lightweight" solution as compared to traditional institutional repositories.
