Abstract

Digital humanities and library and information science (LIS) are closely related disciplines. In this fourth part of a series we review and analyse databases related to history, based on a selection made from the multidisciplinary projects of the European Association for Digital Humanities (EADH): 1914-1918-online, International Encyclopedia of the First World War, ALCIDE (Analysis of Language and Content In a Digital Environment), CENDARI (Collaborative European Digital Archive Infrastructure), COURAGE (Cultural Opposition: Understanding the CultuRal HeritAGE of Dissent in the Former Socialist Countries), eHeritage (Expanding the Research and Innovation Capacity in Cultural Heritage Virtual Reality Applications), Europeana Newspapers, Forced Labor 1939−1945. Memory and History, PELAGIOS (Pelagios: Enable Linked Ancient Geodata In Open Systems), Fasti Online. By publishing the findings of our research we wish to support reference work in Hungarian libraries and LIS education in Hungary, as well as to raise the standard of content provision services.
