Preparations for services supporting research data management at Szeged University
Abstract
In autumn 2020, a questionnaire was prepared at Szeged University to examine everyday research data management (RDM) practice among university staff, to get a realistic picture of expectations and needs, and to lay the basis for establishing research data management services. The colleagues were particularly interested in the views of respondents about controversial RDM issues. To compile the questionnaire, the questions and findings of several similar previous surveys were examined and adapted to the specific characteristics and practices of Szeged University. In this paper the lessons learned and experiences gained from the evaluations of the questionnaire are presented. Based on the analysis, it can be said that the questionnaire was a useful tool to get a realistic picture of the current attitude of the diverse research staff of SZTE towards RDM.
