Abstract

This case study aims to present the co-operation between the Ludovika University Press (LUP) and the Central Library and Archives of the University of Public Service regarding the workflow of online publishing of journals and books.

In the last couple of years, there have been many changes in the organisational structure of the University Press, and as a result, the presence in digital space has become more efficient. LUP carries out a wide range of activities that are fitting to the University’s educational and research profile. In addition to printed and digital publishing and merchandising, it provides blog space, magazine, podcasts and online courses for academics, public servants and everyone interested.

The Library provides support to the publishing process with the following aims: traceability, archiving and optimizing the scientific effect, managing the DOI identifiers of publications, maintaining the periodical structure, repositing, handling and sharing metadata, and delivering the publisher’s content to the widest possible range of users. The cornerstone of co-operation is to make publications available via open access according to the trends of scientific communication.
