(Micro)computer programsfor library functions

Abstract

Publicly available computer programs for assisting various library activities are overviewed. A generál picture of computer applications with special regard to libraries is given as an introduction, followed by a detailed description of the main compo-nents and their functions in an integrated library automation system. Finally, an extended but incomplete list of computer programs of this type is presented.
