Dr. habil. Balázs Németh is a researcher and university lecturer specializing in European adult education and lifelong learning policy analysis and comparative adult education. He is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Pécs (PTE BTK HFMI) and at the Faculty of Education of the University of Szeged (SZTE JGYPK).
Németh Balázs is one of the founders of MELLearN and currently serves as its Executive President.
His further research areas include: policy and adult education; comparative adult education; the history of modern European adult education; and learning cities and regions, in cooperation with the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC).
Németh Balázs is an EUCEN Ambassador, Vice-President of the European Lifelong Learning Platform (LLLP), and Chair of the Andragogy Subcommittee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA PTB). He is also a member of the governing bodies of the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA) and PIMA (Practice, Innovation and Management in Adult Education). He has participated in numerous EU-funded research programmes and serves as a European expert in the professional development of adult education and training. He is also an EPALE Ambassador.
