Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The Opus et Educatio is an open-access journal: publishing and downloading articles are free. The journal does not charge authors any article processing charges (APCs), submission, or publication fees. Users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of these articles.
Authors should declare that their submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal, that the financial support and reference list are complete and precise, including the specification of URLs and DOIs where available. We require that all authors have significantly contributed to the research underlying the submission and have approved the submitted version. The authors warrant that the article is their original work. Authors are obliged to participate in the peer review process, follow the advice of the reviewers, meet the required deadlines, and provide retractions or corrections of mistakes if any occur.
Peer Review Policies
All submissions are subjected to peer review, where the editors ask at least two blind and independent reviews from international experts of the field, making sure that reviewers have no conflict of interest with the authors. The reviews are based on the objective evaluation of the scientific merits and the contribution to the state of the art. The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief, who considers the reviews and recommendations of the editors. Editors and reviewers handle the submission confidentially.
The publisher and the editors are committed to maintaining high ethical standards and preventing the publication of research that involves research misconduct. We use software for AI and plagiarism checking. In case of any allegation of misconduct, the editor deals with the allegation appropriately. In such ethical issues, including retractions and corrections, the COPE guidelines are followed. The Journal is ready to publish corrections if needed.
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges and earlier, more widespread citation of published work (See The Effect of Open Access). As soon as the paper is accepted, submitted, and edited, it will appear on the "OnlineFirst" page of the journal; thus, from this point onward, no other internet-based publication is necessary.
The Journal archives all published papers, and the owner of the Journal, the Budapest University of Technology,, shall continue to maintain the database even if the Journal's publishing is terminated.
Policies for studies involving human subjects
If the paper is based on research involving human subjects, the authors must provide the name of the ethical approval committee/Institutional Review Board from which they obtained consent, and they should confirm that the study was conducted in accordance with the Helsinki Declaration. Editorial principles and ethical considerations
The Editorial Board of Opus et Educatio evaluates the submitted manuscripts on the OJS/PKP online platform and within the framework of the workflow in a double-blind peer-review system. In this process, reviewers who are prepared according to the article's professional content, hold a scientific degree, and are unaware of the author's data are invited to ensure the objectivity of the review.
Opus et Education complies with the guidelines and best practices set forth by COPE. The Editor-in-Chief will consider the submissions received to determine whether they are within the scope of the journal.
Opus et Educatio reserves the right to run submitted manuscripts through a plagiarism filter and an AI impact detector system.
Eligible manuscripts will undergo full external peer review. Professional reviewers must hold a scientific degree (e.g., a PhD).
Materials awaiting publication may only be used for the editor’s (or editorial board members’) own research with the written permission of the author.
Reviewers are assigned to manuscripts based on professional criteria, including expertise, availability, and workload. Only leading experts in the subject area of the manuscript are invited to serve as reviewers. The editor’s decision, together with the experts’ comments, will be sent to the authors. During manuscript review, authors are asked to revise their manuscripts based on the editor's and reviewers' comments. When authors submit their revised work, they must submit a revised version of their manuscript. Revisions and resubmissions of previously rejected manuscripts are returned to the reviewers who evaluated the original version of the manuscript.
Language: Papers should be submitted in English or Hungarian. Terms in other languages must be translated throughout the text, equations, figures, and tables.
Reference system: Our journal uses APA 7.0 (APA Style). References within the text are made by the name of the author(s) and the year of publication of their work. All in-text references must be listed in the bibliography, and all works that appear in the References must be cited in the text. Authors may not use artificial intelligence or AI-powered tools (such as ChatGPT) in the preparation of the manuscript.
Author Name: Please provide the full name of the author, including first and last name, without abbreviations. The ORCID identifier will not appear in the PDF version of the documents. If authors provide an ORCID identifier, this information will appear in the HTML version of the article.
Abstract: should be concise, no more than 250 words, and should not include citations. Provide 3-5 keywords that start with a lowercase letter and are separated by commas.
Portrait photo and short CV: A maximum of three sentences should be attached to the HTML version of the paper.
